How Fido handles your and your dog's information.

Summary

Fido helps you train your dog with a personalised plan and an AI coach. We collect only what we need to do that, we never sell your data, and we don't show third-party ads inside the app. This page explains exactly what we collect, who helps us run the app, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Account. Your email and name when you sign up. You can sign in with Apple, Google, or email. If you use Sign in with Apple and hide your email, we only receive Apple's private relay address.

Your dog's profile. Name, breed, age or date of birth, sex, weight, photos, household details, behaviour concerns, training goals, and any notes you add.

Training activity. Your progress, sessions, skill and behaviour logs, and streaks.

AI Coach chats. Messages you send the in-app coach, plus the dog and training context needed to answer, processed by our AI provider (Google) to generate replies, plans, and tips.

Photos. Photos you upload are stored on our servers and may be analysed by our AI provider to estimate breed and tailor your plan.

Purchases. If you subscribe, Apple and our subscriptions provider (RevenueCat) handle the transaction; we receive your subscription status, not your full card details.

Usage analytics. Event-level data about how you use the app (screens viewed, features used) via Mixpanel, to improve the product.

Marketing measurement. With your permission (Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt), device identifiers such as the IDFV, an Apple Search Ads token, and an anonymous Meta identifier, to see which campaigns bring people to Fido.

Technical data. Device type, OS and app version, language, time zone, basic diagnostics, and push-notification tokens if you enable notifications.

What we don't do

We don't sell your personal information. We don't show third-party advertising inside the app. We don't access your contacts, microphone, or precise location. Tracking for marketing measurement only happens if you allow it.

AI processing

The AI Coach, plan generation, and photo/breed analysis use Google's Gemini models. Your messages, your dog's profile context, and uploaded photos may be sent to Google to produce responses. Please don't share sensitive personal information you wouldn't want processed this way.

Who we share with

We never sell your data. We share it only with service providers that process it on our behalf, under contract:

  • Google Firebase — sign-in, database, file storage, backend.
  • Google (Gemini) — AI coach, plans, and photo analysis.
  • Apple — Sign in with Apple, notifications, and App Store purchases.
  • RevenueCat — subscription management.
  • Mixpanel — product analytics.
  • Meta — marketing attribution (only with your permission).

We may also disclose information if required by law, or in connection with a business transfer.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep certain records to meet legal obligations.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR, CCPA, and UAE PDPL), you can access, correct, delete, export, or restrict the use of your information, and withdraw consent. You can edit your and your dog's details in the app, manage tracking permission in your device Settings, delete your account in the app, or email us at support@bettelf.com. EEA/UK users may also complain to their local data protection authority.

Data security

We protect your information with industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

International transfers

We and our providers may process your information in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Children

Fido is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We don't knowingly collect information from children; if you believe a child gave us data, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, add notice in the app.
